Matthew reading:
"Prepare the way for the Lord's coming! Clear the way for Him". If only we could be more like John the Baptist. John's mission was to prepare the way for Jesus, and once Jesus came on the scene, John stepped back, his work done. We, on the other hand, often don't "clear the way" for Jesus. If anything, our rules and regulations, our selfish actions, and our non-God-glorifying lifestyles place obstacles between Jesus and the people He came to save.
Oh Lord, please help us to clear all obstacles that prevent people from getting to You, and help us to recognise when we need to step back and allow You to do what You came for.
